Inside the Gigafactory of Tesla

The new Gigafactory of Tesla is critical to its future. In order to meet the goal of producing 400,000 preordered Model 3s and to realize Elon Musks’ dreams of making affordable electric cars, it needs to make batteries cheap enough. The 540,000 square meters building is located in the middle of the Nevada desert and will be the largest building worldwide, by footprint, when it’s finished. Tesla’s Gigafactory will be built in 3 phases and will be completed by 2018.
